A little over a decade ago, Mark Zuckerberg dropped out of Harvard University to pursue his dream of building his little startup called "The Facebook." In his speech, Zuckerberg shared a few key pieces of wisdom from the real world that the grads will soon be entering and even shared a little dating advice for the class of 2017. But his speech didn't stop there.

Zuckerberg, a man worth an estimated $63 billion, additionally shared his views on the future and the economy and what he believes it will take to fix it. According to Zuckerberg, the answer is universal basic income.

"We should have a society that measures progress not just by economic metrics like GDP, but by how many of us have a role we find meaningful," Zuckerberg said in his speech, according to Business Insider. Read More

Thu, 2017-05-25 17:01

Killing Jason in the Friday the 13th movies was nigh impossible, but in the game, it's a bit less strenuous. Those playing as counselors will be relieved to know how to kill Jason, though it isn't apparent how to do it at first. To kill Jason in Friday the 13th: The Game, you'll have to coordinate with your fellow counselors to pull off a sequence of events. If you manage to perform each task correctly, you'll kill Jason and win the current match of Friday the 13th: The Game. Each surviving counselor will also receive a good amount of bonus XP.

Killing Jason in Friday the 13th: The GameThere are easier ways to survive a match in Friday the 13th: The Game than killing Jason when playing as a counselor. Escaping via the car or boat are the most feasible, but not necessarily the most rewarding. Read More

Get ready because NOAA is predicting an above-average hurricane season

Thu, 2017-05-25 16:31

On Thursday, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration announced that the Atlantic could see another above-normal hurricane season this year.

In a statement, NOAA explained that its forecasters predict a 45% chance of an above-normal season, a 35% chance of a near-normal season and just a 20% chance of a below-normal season, which runs from June 1 through November 30.

According to the NOAA forecasters, there could be between 11-17 named storms, which only qualify for naming if winds are 39 mph or higher. Of those, an estimated 5-9 could become hurricanes, including 2-4 major hurricanes, which means winds would be at or above 111 mph. Read More

The Survivor 34: Game Changers finale wrapped up last night and "criminal" cop Sarah Lacina was crowned the most game-changing of all the game changers. A new theme is about to step into the spotlight: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers.

Source: SurvivorOnCBS/YouTubeLet's be frank here: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers is a real goofy theme — like next-level silliness. But you also have to remember that a Survivor theme just serves the purpose of pulling in fans. It's the cast that determine whether the season soars or flops.

Taiwan just legalized same-sex marriage. But what does it mean for China?

Thu, 2017-05-25 14:38

On Wednesday, Taiwan's highest court ruled in support of same-sex marriage, opening the door for marriage equality in the island nation. The news was heralded as a victory for LGBTQ rights for East Asia — but what does a ruling in support of same-sex marriage in Taiwan mean for LGBTQ rights in China, which still sees Taiwan as a Chinese province?

According to Stephen Peters, national press secretary for the Human Rights Campaign, the ruling in Taiwan will likely "have a major galvanizing impact on LGBTQ activists throughout Asia," especially in East and Southern Asia, Peters said.

With Wednesday's ruling, Taiwan is poised to become the first country in Asia to legalize same-sex marriage. Read More

The Constitution won again.

In a 10-3 ruling, the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the blocking of President Donald Trump's Muslim travel ban on Thursday.

4th Circuit blocks Trump's travel ban once again

Thu, 2017-05-25 13:59

A Richmond-based federal appeals court once again blocked the enforcement of President Donald Trump's travel ban, saying the executive order "drips with religious intolerance, animus and discrimination."

This is just the latest of multiple legal challenges Trump has lost to his travel ban, which seeks to halt immigration from six Muslim-majority countries, as well as block the admittance of refugees from across the globe.

The American Civil Liberties Union, which has helped fight against the travel ban, immediately declared victory on Twitter.

"President Trump's Muslim ban violates the Constitution, as this decision strongly reaffirms," Omar Jadwat, director of the ACLU's Immigrants' Rights Project, said in a statement. Read More

Road to the Show in MLB the Show 17 has a storyline this year, but don't let that distract you from constructing a sound plan for building a beastly character.

Body language experts can't agree on Trump's latest awkward handshake with a world leader

Thu, 2017-05-25 12:44

President Donald Trump has a lot to learn about handshakes with friends, according to at least one renowned body language expert.

The president and French prime minister Emmanuel Macron met in Brussels on Thursday on their way to a NATO summit, engaging in what seemed like a lengthy stare down and a stern handshake in front of reporters.

Some reporters at the meeting suggested the greeting was contentious.

Body language expert Dr. Linda Glass, who has criticized Trump's overbearing communications style previously, said that she doesn't detect any nonverbal war of wills going on between the two world leaders.

"The reason it lasted so long is kind of a good sign," Glass said. "I think it was for the photo op. It shows they're both connected to one another."

Glass added that both Trump and Macron "showed strength" during the exchange.

"One didn't cower away," she continued. Read More

In homage to DC Comic's foremost female superhero, an Austin, Texas, movie theater is trying to recreate something of Paradise Island's feminist utopia with two all-women Wonder Woman screenings.

But not if men have it their way.

Without delay or sense of irony — the men of the internet are kicking up a fuss about the theater's women-only showings on its Facebook page.

Although the Gem Mine allows you to collect one of the game's currencies at a rate that could be charitably described as "glacial," you'll have to shell out real world money on micro transactions to accumulate them in any significant capacity.

Much like with other über-popular games like Pokémon Go, there are lots of cheats and hacks that promise you an easier time as you make your way through the game. Read More

Pokémon's 'Magikarp Jump' mobile game, reviewed by a 4-year-old: "8/5; I want a unicorn"

Thu, 2017-05-25 12:17

These days, 4-year-olds are all about stealing away with their parents' tablets and playing mobile games trite enough to melt their growing brains. But not my kids.

In addition to this 4-year-old's penchant for Toca Boca and Super Mario Run, I managed to convince her to download and play the Pokémon Company's brand-new game, Magikarp Jump. We sat down and I asked her a handful of questions while we played together.

It looks like we'll be adding Pokémon Go to her mobile game collection so we can go on walks and catch some Pokémon together. Now, if Nintendo would only hurry up and announce Pokémon Stars, we'd be a very happy family indeed. — Amanda Farough
